Alex Trochut

Sure I'v blogged Trochut's work before, he's the best typographic illustrator I have come across, always creating something fresh and with a great attention to detail.

Whacking Day! Final.

I seem to have got faster, from initial sketch to final illustration..
Here's the final, I took inspiration from Illustrative type artist; Alex Trochet.

Whacking Day! final draft + amends.

Here's a close-up of the type I plan to digitally illustrate. Bold colour and line, really clean and simple.

This is my battle to draw the correct 'a'. I think I worked it out eventually (circled).

Here's the final draft, just needs tightening up and such when illustrater'd'. safe.

Whacking Day!

Something I'v been thinking of doing for some time, illustrative type.
Here's the initial sketch.

Gianluca Fallone

London based design firm, Gianluca Fallone, produce some of the cleanest graphic illustrations I'v seen. Interesting subjects too.

Sanna Annukka

Sanna Annukka's Design really inspires me, she has a very bold, block style which i try to follow in my own work. I particularly like her use of colour.

Charles Harper

Brilliant illustrations by Charles Harper, saw his book in borders yesterday but £120 is just too much!

working with mirrors

I like my illustrations to be perfect and equal, therefore i draw a complete vertical half of the image and then simply copy and reflect the half to produce a whole image. This ensures I have a perfectly equal image, plus it cuts the time taken to draw the image in half.

cat head new

Here's a leopards head. I have continued the illustrated style of the panther head, trying to generate a series of 'big cat heads'.

Ghost Hunt 002

Continuing the ghost hunt theme, with a playful and unrealistic butterfly net.
However, who's to say this isn't how you catch a ghost. Eat your heart out ghostbusters!

Digital Illustration

Here's one of my drawings digitised. I think the digital drawn style is my strong point over the hand generated look.

Change of Direction

Hello again, it's been a while... after moving house and starting a new job Im back designing.
I'v decided to put the bow tie work on hold due to lack of funds over the summer.

I'v recently started to draw more, and realized all I ever did was logos and flyers, which i have to admit get pretty dull after a while. Here are some illustrations from my sketchbook, I plan to digitize some.
